We provide a range of funeral director services in Cornwall from our Paul Sherris Funeral Services offices in Hayle and St Ives. You can come and visit us to find out more about the funeral services we offer, or call or email us to get in touch if you need something specific you don’t see listed below.

A direct cremation is a simple and dignified option for those who do not wish to have a funeral service at the crematorium. The cremation takes place without a formal ceremony or mourners in attendance, allowing families the freedom to remember their loved one in a way that feels right for them and at a time of their choosing.

At Paul Sherris Funeral Services, your loved one will be cared for with the utmost respect and dignity throughout the entire process. We will make all necessary arrangements, complete the required paperwork, and oversee the cremation at Treswithian Downs Crematorium on an agreed date. Following the cremation, the ashes will be returned to the family.

Choosing a direct cremation does not mean foregoing a meaningful farewell. Families may still visit their loved one in our chapel of rest, provide their chosen clothing, include personal items, and select music to be played during the committal. Our experienced team will be on hand to offer guidance and support every step of the way.

Many people choose a direct cremation because it offers a straightforward and affordable alternative to a traditional funeral, while also providing the flexibility to arrange a memorial service, celebration of life, or private gathering at a later date.

A direct cremation is simply a different way of saying goodbye. The absence of a formal funeral service does not lessen the love, respect, or care shown to the person who has died. Often, the simplest farewells can be among the most personal and meaningful.
